3 Ways to Use Blogs in My Classroom

Hello everyone!

After watching that video, I was brainstorming different ways that I could use blogs in my classroom. Here is what I came up with!

1. I thought about using a blog as a way for students to respond to independent reading that they may be doing during independent reading time. A blog could be a place for students to write reviews or summaries of those stories. Other students could then use the blog as a way to find new books to read from my classroom library.

2. Another way I could use a blog could be for Book Clubs within my own class or with other classes in my building or other districts. I could plan with another teacher for certain groups of students to read the same book and then blog about their opinion about the book, its characters or the plot. Students could then comment on other students posts, sharing their own opinions and sparking debates.

3. A final way that I could incoporate blogs into my classroom could be to use it as a feedback/reflection method. At the end of a unit or of a week of lessons, students can blog about what they learned that week or what they may still have questions about. It could allow me to provide feedback to them as well.

So there are some ideas of how I can incorporate blogs next year!
